The rising standard of living in Mauritius is giving rise to new needs and wants among the Mauritian people – of travel and overseas vacations. At the same time, Mauritius is focusing its full attention in developing its ‘Tourism’ industry. It is expected that the Tourism sector will in the next 10 years become the major economic sector in the country.
Shamal Travels Ltd (member of Shamal Group) registered in 2006 is a registered and licensed ‘Travel Agent’ and ‘Tour Operator’. Our objective is to provide Quality Travel and Tourism service to both outgoing and incoming passengers.
To ensure quality service, we will seek and make strategic alliances with similar organizations in different countries, whereby we will supply service to their customers coming to Mauritius and we in turn will promote and sell their travel products to the Mauritian people. While ensuring mutual benefits to our stakeholders, this arrangement will ensure a reliable, timely, effective and quality service to all customers.
In April 2007, we formed our first strategic alliance with “TravelPort”. TravelPort with over 10 years experience is a major travel products provider. Based in Mumbai, India, it already has over 80 ‘Franchisees’ in India and over 10 ‘International Franchisee’. Shamal Travels is the ‘Master Franchisee’ for Mauritius, Reunion and Madagascar. Shamal Travels is also the official representative of TravelPort in Mauritius thereby ensuring ground service to all TravelPort customers in Mauritius.
Our objective is to be in the top ten travel service provider in Mauritius by 2015.
